Beautiful scenery from top of the tower along with the rustic history of how it was built and get amused on how it works.!!

Minicoy Island is one of the oldest lighthouses in Lakshadweep. Standing tall at 300 feet, the view from the top is absolutely mesmerizing. It is one of the must visit place if you are planning a trip to Minicoy Island. However, the foreign nationals are not allowed to visit this island. one of the largest in Lakshadweep, the green of coconut trees, and the mirror-like surface of an inland lake as it nestles in one corner of the island. Minicoy has a culture very different from any other island - dress, language, food, all differ. Minicoy has a cluster of 10 villages, which are called Athiris, each presided over by a Moopan. A walk through the winding lanes of the villages is an indication of the culture here. Minicoy is renowned for its dance tradition: the lava dance is performed on festive occasions. There is a tuna canning factory - signifying its importance in tuna fishing and boat building activity. Privately managed cottages have been built on the isolated beaches and are available for tourists. Amazing experience.

There are about 225 steps to reach the top and the view from the top is amazingly awesome.

Quite old lighthouse. It has collections that show how the lighthouse technology progressed over a period of time. Offers a good panoramic view of Minicoy Island. However you may feel congestion while climbing up and down the stairs.
