Varakkal Beach located in Calicut is not so beautiful. There are needs to redevelop this place with facilities like benches to sit around. There is a fisheries factory and the smell was very bad. In a total, the beach is not worth to visit, of you are planning to visit this beach specially I suggest not to visit, instead visit Calicut Beach which is just around 1-2 kilometres away from this beach.

It is beautiful, with lot of facilities. In the morning it looks like a East open air fitness center. Evenings turn out to be a place for merry making and enjoyment during the mesmerizing sunset.

I find this beach more clean and less crowded than the calicut south beach.Water here is more blue and clean :))
