Jhargram is a small town .It is a popular tourist destination known for its forests, ancient temples and royal palaces.

Railway station for West Bengal's newest carved district that is Jhargram, earlier was a small station primarily used by locals and tourists from Kolkata used to visit here for tour of Jangalmahal forest along with famous Kanak Durga Mata temple which is nearby at Chilkigarh.nThere are 4 number of platforms here of which 1,2 are for trains going towards Tatanagar (Jamshedpur) and 3,4 for trains towards Kharagpur/Kolkata.nJhargram station is being renovated for looking more aesthetically beautiful and along with augmentation of additional platforms, passengers amenities besides platform number 4 where land had been cleared by South Eastern Railway.
