Madmaheshwar Temple

Madhyameshwar Temple is one of the Panch Kedars and is the fourth number among the Panch Kedars. Which is built at an elevation of 3,497 meters (11,473 ft) above sea level. The middle or bull's belly or navel (navel), believed to be the divine form of Shiva, is worshiped in this temple. Silver idols of this temple are transferred to Ukhimath in winter. Madhyameshwar temple was built by the Pandavas.nAccording to a legend, this temple is believed to be the Panchakedar because after the war of Mahabharata the Pandavas wanted to get rid of their sins, therefore Lord Krishna advised the Pandavas to get blessings of Lord Shankar. Therefore Pandavas reached Varanasi to get blessings of Lord Shankar but Lord Shankar left Varanasi and hid in Guptkashi because Lord Shankar was angry with Pandavas Pandavas had destroyed their clan. When the Pandavas reached Guptkashi, then Lord Shankar reached Kedarnath where Lord Shankar took the form of a bull. Pandavas discovered Lord Shankar and received blessings from him. It is believed that when Lord Shankar disappeared as a bull, the upper part of his torso appeared in Kathmandu. Now there is a famous temple of Pashupatinath. Shiva's arms are worshiped at Tungnath, at Mukh Rudranath, at the navel Madhyamaheshwara, Lord Shankar as the body-shape of the bull's back at Sri Kedarnath and Jata appeared at Kalpeshwar. Therefore in these five places Sri Madhyamaheshwar is called Panchkedar.
