ABOUT THE HOSPITALnnIn 1902, Rev. P. A. Penner, an American Mennonite missionary working in Champa, started an asylum for leprosy patients who begged for a living. Eventually, the asylum was converted into a hospital-cum-home. The Mission to Lepers (now, The Leprosy Mission Trust India) took over its management in 1903. As time went on, the number of patients in the home increased, and in the 1950s, the home was converted into a hospital.nnThe facilities provided by the hospital include consulting rooms, in-patient rooms, operating theatre, laboratory services, ECG services, X-ray services, counselling, physiotherapy, pharmacy, MCR protective footwear and artificial limbs.
