I visited this temple for the first time in 1996. During those days, besides its peaceful ambience, Shivdham temple was noted for a tortoise that lived in the pond inside the temple. Visitors would feed the tortoise rice, pieces of biscuit, moori etc. The temple is located by Makum Road, one of the busiest roads in Tinsukia. In 2001, a fair was held in this temple. My father, one of my brothers and I visited the fair and purchased a wooden article.

The place is good to visit but the outside environment is not maintained properly on the other hand it good for visiting with family
