Hot Sulphur Springs Resort & Spa

We came just to use the hot springs and did not stay in the hotel or use the changing rooms, so I cannot say anything about those amenities, but we did use as many of the pools as we could and they were all wonderful. There were actually too many to use! I love hot springs so I figured I'd be able to get to them all, but I was actually tired out after sampling about 9 of them; I wish I could have tried them all. We spent at least a couple of hours there, talking to other interesting folks in the pools (it was a bit crowded, but luckily most of the people had kids and they were all staying down at the largest swimming pool where the kids could play), enjoying the scenic views, and being helped by very friendly staff. The water was lovely, some filtered pools, some not filtered so you could take your pick of what kind of hot spring experience you wanted. I had many of the pools all to myself, there were so many to choose from that the guests were spread out, you could choose to be with others or have a private soak. The parking lot, areas outside the hotel rooms, and the interior of the main buildings were clean and people seemed to be enjoying themselves thoroughly (one family of about 6 adults had even taken their hotel room table and chairs out of their room, placed it outside of their door in the parking lot area and were all sitting around it, eating, talking, having fun. It never would have occurred to me to move the hotel furniture outside of the room!) The two pools in the indoor area looked like they could use a bit of an upgrade in decor, but all the others were swell. This is not some high-end luxury resort/spa, so don't expect that five-star level, but you get quite a lot for the price you do pay for pool use. Nowhere else did I have such an array of pools to choose from, going from one to the next to the next. And then we laid out on lounge chairs in a private covered deck facing the lovely hill in back, watching the birds and butterflies! Beautiful. This is gem of a place if you come with the right level of expectations and do it right. I'm very glad we came and would definitely come back to try the pools we missed! Reviewed on 10/5/2019

The stay in the cabin was great, there were a few spiders. All of the different pools are perfect. They range from 90° to 112°. It's a bit of a walk from the cabin to the pools especially when it was 16° out. The cabin has a fireplace, and a little complimentary breakfast of bagels, oatmeal, and coffee. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. Not a lot of options for food in town especially if it's after about 6-7pm. Had to go to Granby and even then the restaurant there closed at 8.

The workers aren't very nice or inviting. Don't be late to your reservation they won't extend it or provide a partial refund regardless of weather and or traffic conditions. The site itself is beautiful and the pools were nice but customer service could use some work. Also toddlers pay full price just like adults so be prepared.

This was a pretty fun getaway! We were looking forward to getting out of the house but still maintaining good social distancing. One star removed simply because it was much more crowded than we anticipated during covid. Many of the pools were closed which didn't help of course, but there could have been a better calculated limit for the time slot we registered for.

this place is old and dirty, so many better hot springs in Colorado. pools are small. the smell of the sulphur is pretty strong. the water had little white things floating in it. the locker rooms were closed and they had just one small bathroom open. definitely will not go back here ever again.
