A nice river side temple on the banks of Achankovil river. Google says it is 300 years old. Couldn't feel the age as it was under renovation when i visited.

Tazhoor Bhgavathy temple is located on the banks of the river Achankovil. It is a beautiful scenery to see this temple from the other side of the river. Devotees are allowed to wear pants, but are restricted from wearing banians and shorts . Hotel and lodging facilities are available in Pathanamthitta..3.5 Km away from temple. The temple is easily connected via Pathanathitta- Vallikodu-.v.kottayam Road. The main vazhipadu is - "Kadum payasam" . Devotees can get an easy rush less entry to the temple during the working days. The festival Kumbha bharani is on during the "Kumbham" month of the malayalam calendar, during which the temple experiences a huge rush.The main vazhipadu kolam ( Padayani) is the main attraction of kumbha Bharani.

Nice and tidy temple. Most interesting factor is this that its near achankovil river. It also has a cool and refreshing atmosphere. Currently construction works of new temple are going on.
