Major railway station of goa. But its a small station .safe but at night times homeless people and beggars used to sleep over platforms. Cops are always ready to check you luggage to whether you carry liquor bottles if they are successful they full filled that day and negotiate with you . So beware.

Margao is a city in the western Indian state of Goa. Its Portuguese colonial past is evident in buildings like the 1675 baroque Holy Spirit Church, with its ornate interior and pipe organ. Sat Burzam Ghor is a grand 1700s mansion with 3 of its original 7 gables remaining. Margao Municipal Garden includes the colonial Municipal Building and library. Madgaon junction is the central place in Goa. You can get the trains for across the India from here like Bangalore, Mumbai etc. The station is spacious & has many platforms. I travelled to Mumbai from double decker AC train. It was awesome journey & experience.
