In terms of infrastructure there is a building and some quarters for employees. You get a ticket from the Counter wait for your train on the platform where only a few benches have been put that too have expired with time. The look n feel and charm of this station had diminished over the years. Lacks basic facilities like hygienic toilets, sitting arrangements for elderly people, water purifier, shelter on platform in case of rain or snow. Although a few tea stalls, general store, an ATM and a Hotel for an overnight stay can be found outside the station.nCabs, Auto and local transport is available till the last train passes through this station.

Anantnag railway station is a railway station on the Northern railway network. It is the headquarters of Anantnag division of Northern Railway zone .nThe station has been built as part of the Jammu–Baramulla line megaproject, intending to link the Kashmir Valley with Jammu Tawi and the rest of the Indian rail network.nnThe station is basically located in rice fields which are between . wanpoh and harnag. It is approximately 4.5km far from Anantnag town.
