Trains to Katra, New Delhi, Old Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Chandigarh, Udhampur, Amritsar Junction and other important destitation in the country like Pune Junction, Ambala Junction etc. start and end here. The station premises are cleaned quite regularly now-a-days (7 years ago there weren't much facilities). The food and drinks are easily available as on other railway stations.

The old Jammu station was built in around 1897 but was abandoned after the Partition of India as the railway link to Sialkot was broken. Jammu had no rail services until 1971, when the Indian Railways laid the Pathankot - Jammu Tawi Broad Gauge line. Couldn't find an AC waiting room here when my Siyaldaah express got a bit late.nOtherwise station is clean and provision of seperate waiting rooms available for ladies and gents with proper ventilation. Canteens and clean Ro water booths available..!!
