It is the taxi stand of the Burdwan railway stand in front. Once a visitor comes out of the station can see the place where the taxi's are lined up. Easy & convenient to rent and go for places.

Railway station is maintained. There are limited taxis. Still you can find old model Ambassador taxi. Hire charges are negotiable.
Most of the people use e- rickshaw for movement in town and nearby within 10 km radius. E- rickshaw are not allowed to cross NH. However in night after 10 pm the e-rickshaw may cross NH.
Burdwan Railway Station–Taxi Stand is good. I've visited 2 times at Burdwan and my destination was Burdwan University.
To reach at Burdwan University just hire a toto @ Rs.10 only (fixed rate).
Don't give much money to the toto drivers because they charge much more than the fixed rate if they realize that someone unknown person has come !
