It's is stoppage comes in the western railway. And the slow train only have stop at this station usually. Stations and it's surrounding/nearby places yet to be developed a lot.nn'Matunga Road' station( of western line) has a direct eastern link to Central line 'Matunga' railway station. Which takes around 10 minutes in walking where all the fruit and flower markets are famous in the city of Mumbai.

Matunga Road is the name of a railway station on the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It offers access to Matunga and Shivaji Park areas of Mumbai. It should not be confused with the nearby Matunga railway station, which is on the Central Line just to the east. Matunga Road is one of the smallest railway halt in Mumbai in terms of number of passengers and number of platforms. The Ruparel College is the nearest college to this station. Fast local trains between Churchgate and Virar do not stop at Matunga Road station. It has been documented as the first suburban station on Western Railway to be run by all-women staff. It gives connections to Matunga (Central Line) via the Z bridge which can accessed by the station's main foot over bridge. It is not that crowded unlike Dadar. Mostly used by college students of Ruparel college due to its proximity to it. It is clean station. the station is upgrading with several access points. This station is crowded at a time of evening. The station is catering to the quiet and exotic middle class locales with connections to Shivaji Park, Matunga CR, King's Circle and Dadar /Mahim areas.
