Quite well maintained, very small railway station with fewer trains passing through everyday. There's another railway halt around 4-5 KM from this station and most of the passengers are for that only, that is Rail Coach Factory or RCF as they call. Kapurthala is an old royal estate and having many historical places to visit around. The city is small as compared to neighboring city of Jalandhar but still the royal touch allure many tourists and this is also on the way of Sultanpur Lodhi so people traveling by road, do stop here for some refreshments and break. Overall a very nice, quite city. One can spend a day or two easily. Well connected to all the major towns via train and bus.
