If you only have time for 1 museum. Make it this one. It covers all the major info about the structure of the city and the story behind all the significant buildings. It will make your visits to monuments after more meaningful and special. Highly recommended !

It's a must see place when visiting Chandigarh first time. Ideally the tour should start from here and one or two hours be spent for learning the making of Chandigarh. Ideal place for every student, emphasizing the need of planning, designing and management as well as vision of the leaders. There are displays of master plans, blue prints, important communications, photographs and story of Chandigarh. Two floor building is very calm and quiet, not crowded, will help the visitor to move in a comfortable pace. Large compound with large parking.

Located within the same complex as the Government Museum & Art Complex, this is a jewel of a museum for those interested in architecture and urban planning.nEntry tickets is ₹10/person and another ₹10/person for photography.nThe museum and its exhibits are spread out over three floors and the stairs are not too steep.nI loved learning how Chandigarh was designed by an American and a Polish American duo.nLe Corbusier designed the buildings and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret designed many of the furniture still seen from locally sourced materials.nThe staff were very professional and kept this small museum clean.
