I thought the process of placing both my parents at a cemetery would be the saddest and most confronting time of my life, it wasn't ! not only did I meet a lovely lady who guided me through she made the process incredibly relaxed and respectful.nThank you Michelle Grey for your empathy and your professionalism.

Disappointed to see moveable sign stating who was being interred had Middle Name and Last name of my relation... but not the First Name. Strategically (and thankfully) this had been moved to be behind a larger sign explaining layout of Palmdale.nYet - how could you be in error of the name of the man being buried. This action is rather intolerable, when our names make up a very large part of who we are - I never knew my uncle's middle name, yet it was displayed as if it was the name he was known by.nnAt the internment service - which was curiously very symbolic, by way of lowering casket into the grassy ground very near the office... only for that hole (near no other hole or grave) to be seen as very likely used again. Then a lid covered in fake lawn is lifted onto hole. Modern funeral practices are just bizarre.nnI think it of valid concern that the grounds are wrongly quite lush... I think all Australians ought take a better look at the overall environment and acknowledge that a drought is upon us - and a Lawn Cemetery should be shouldering some of that visual environment, too; if the land turns yellow then we all should be in it together; not embracing the folly of bright greens to celebrate the unseeing dead. Although I am not a local, I suspect that the cooling of the locale found at the base of the Watagan Mountain Range is not enough to abate the effect of the statewide-drought, inclusive of the Central Coast.

Sadly, so many of my bowling friends are already here, along with my first husband, his beautiful Mum and his Dad and I know there will be many more as times goes by.nEvery time I visit I am filled with an overwhelming sadness that becomes a deep sense of serenity and a feeling of being home, for this reason I have chosen Palmdale to be my eternal resting place, when my time comes.nTo this end, I have recently purchased a site for my soulmate, (my wonderful husband), and I, so that our families won't have this added burden when we both depart this life.nI/we can't thank staff member, Jodie, enough for all her assistance during this process, though I hope I/we don't see her again for at least another 20 years.nNothing was too much trouble as Jodie rounded up maps, photo's and information and drove us around the park, (many times), in the little buggy..... helping us in the choice of our final resting place, if not fun, was made a very pleasant experience. I can relax now, knowing this part of my life has been taken care of and I feel better for having done this.nThank you Jodie and Palmdale staff.
