Fort Custer is an amazing national cemetery for military veterans. Me and the family went for the Memorial Day service and love thanking our vets for the sacrifices they have made. So many of them rest here at Fort Custer. Coming into the cemetery the Avenue of Flags give a respectful awe to all those who visit. The memorial walk, located near the entrance felt like it had such a spirit of honor upon it. The MA section was very emotional as it is filled with service members who's remains are lost. All in all, we had a very fun and emotional day at one of the biggest cemeteries around.
It's a beautiful place. But the ceremony was lackluster everyone acted just like they were going thru the motions and thinking of other things. When it was over the gentleman in charge rushed everyone out saying another funeral was waiting we had to hurry up and leave. People felt that he was a little cold. Many they should allow a few more minutes between ceremonies so people can say goodbye without being rushed.
My Uncle Dave Mitscher was laid to rest yesterday, and my Aunt Betty Mitscher, his wife of 67 years wanted to thank everyone who was involved. It was the most beautiful ceremony that we have ever been to. The service people were so kind and professional, and made the final moments so memorable. Thank you so much❣ufe0f
Thank you so much to Tressa and Tom that worked so hard to make it possible for us 5 children to attend my Fathers internmet after problems with my step mother. Such a beautiful and meaningful cemenary to our WW II vet
Well I thought it was an amazing place until I got thrown out for riding my bike on the roads. I was only on the blacktop roads at 9am with very little traffic. I was told riding a bike was recreational activity which is not allowed in the cemetery. Someone might want to rethink this rule.
