Visiting our ancestors is a very important thing to my family's culture. We believe they should have a beautiful space. When we first bought the lot it was exactly as we wanted. However, for Years now, the lot has been poorly taken care of. Whenever they mow, they either barely get close to our headstones or the headstones are hit and moved out of place. There are dead and leaning trees all over the place. There are countless weeds undoubtedly everywhere. We have talked to the before, but it never seems to change. Prior to a burial, we asked them to mow the grass in our lot in order for it to be presentable and they did not do that at all. While we will continue to come here because this is where our family is, it is extremely disappointing as well as disrespectful for my ancestors.

When I had my two Westies, either my mom or I would walk the boys in the cemetery. Such history ! When you see markers for numerous children from the same family, it makes me thankful for modern medicine.nIt’s so beautiful and peaceful and the grounds are beautiful. Imagine my suprise when the dogs were sleeping in the sun and I looked up to see a young doe !nMy mother in law told me that it used to be the end of the streetcar route.

A beautiful and restful cemetery that any student of history should visit. There are many elegantly carved headstones in this large cemetery. The trees and animals that can be seen in the area make it a very natural place of repose.nnIt's easy to see that those buried here are well taken care of by the staff of Fairmount and that even the oldest tombs are protected with love.
