Among the hustle bustle of the narrow and busy street of central kolkata situated this beautiful synagogue.. you need to see it to believe it.nWhile walking through the narrow pollock street if you are not attentive you are going to miss it.nClean n pristine maintained by a family from Odisha over the generations as caretaker the synagogue has some exquisite art work in the form of old fan, chandelier and tinted glass windows.nGood watch on a lazy Sunday morning when the busy lane is comparative empty.

The oldest synagogue has now been restored to it's full grandeur. It looks very appealing from the outside. We weren't allowed inside on a Sunday, even though there were no prayers by the Jews happening then. We were allowed in the other synagogues, but not here.
