This temple is located at heightsnIt's was the new year when I visited this place along with my friendsnWe choosed to go through the longer route sort of like treknIt was exhaustingnBut when we reached at top ,evey step felt worthy and we were full of energy againnHope to visit this place againnThere are no shops at topnCarry your water bottlesnBeware of leech while going through longer routenHave h happy journey

Thal Kedar Temple in Pithoragarh Thal Kedar is a sacred temple of Lord Shiva near Pithoragarh located at a hilltop. The temple is located at a distance of 16 kms from main Pithoragarh town. It is an important religious place famous for its scenic beauty and holy Shiv Linga. According to Himalayan geologists, the dolomite rock (Shiv linga) is approximately 1000 million years old equal to that of Maa Vaishno Devi. Every year on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, a large fair is held at Thal Kedar that attracts large number of devotees here. The holy temple lies at the top of 8300 feet high mountain of Soar valley in Eastern Kumaon Himalayas.

Good trekking experience and one of the most beautiful temple at Kumaon region. Total 8km trekking. Easy to Moderate trekking. Try to start early so that you can stay there for 1-2 hours and enjoy the view. Carry food or water you wouldn’t get anything in between. Don’t go alone as you need to cross jungle. We went 22nd nov 2020. Got clear view of Himalayan range.
