Sohliya, Strawberry Festival

Sohliya is a Beautiful colourful village smell of strawberries add sweet refreshment to fresh air. Small plants but big red juicy strawberries are the main attraction to this place.

This village is at the outskirts of Shillong.One can visit this place while returning back to Guwahti.This place is about 20Km from Shillong.The best time to visit this Village is between October to March.This is the time when strawberry is at full bloom . One can pluck the berries by themselves and can buy it from the farm.The farm also sells strawberry wine and is priced moderately.The village guide takes for a tour also in the field.Though this place is still little unknown to the tour operators,its a nice place to visit.The roads leading to the village is little bumpy but worth the experience of the village.

Actual strawberry plantation is very near to the highway, one can see live strawberry in the private plantation only, they even cell plants at nominal rates, strawberry season is after every January..no point in going to the festival site

Sohliya is a must- visit! It's like nothing you've ever seen. But do take note of the season before you visit.nnDon't follow the Google Maps as the location described is inaccurate. Do ask around when you're about 2 kms from the location (as per Google)
