one of the four most important Buddhist pilgrimage destinations in the world. It has special significance because it's the place where the Buddha gave his first sermon. However, you don't have to be Buddhist to enjoy visiting it. Sarnath also makes a peaceful and refreshing side trip from Varanasi.

It's nice and peaceful.. If u want to put money in the box, put it in.. U don't have to.. The Jain temple is also worth a visit and the Chinese temple.. Also the Thai temple which closes at 4 45pm,missed it last time.. The museum also worth a visit its cheap and the remains the excavated remains and stupa is worth a look that's 270 rupees for Westerns and closes at 5pm..give that 30 minutes at least.. I came in twenty minutes before closing I could have had more time. Sarnath for sure is worth a visit.

Sarnath temple is a big and beautiful temple in Varanasi.I visited there with my friends and enjoyed so much. there was an Buddha's temple. the most interesting thing is zoo where numbers of Verity's of animal.

Sarnath is a quite popular tourist spot in Varanasi. Known as the place where the Lord Buddha came to give his first sermon after he attained enlightenment at Bodhgaya, . A trip to Sarnath will definitely boost your spiritual beliefs and leave you in a peaceful state of mind.nnOverall Worth Visiting...!!! :) Sarnath, the deer park, where Buddha preached his fist sermon, isn't far out of Varanasi & the ruins, museum & temple are within walking distance of each other. The grounds of the ruins are very well kept, very peaceful to wander around & take in the expanse of the ruins.
