During the 90s, a particular rumour connected with this stadium was prevalent in Tinsukia town. Situated in a semi-rural area, Borguri, this stadium is surrounded by roads, and during those days, travelling through the roads around and close to the stadium, especially at night, was fun and delightful. In 1997, an aero-show was held in this stadium. Leaflets of the show were distributed throughout Tinsukia and the news of the upcoming aero-show quickly spread among the people of the town. In the show, skydivers jumped from the helicopters flying over Tinsukia and landed in the stadium’s vast field. The show, held for two days, was watched by hundreds of spectators.
