Taj Mahal is a very beautiful historical monument of India which was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century. It was built by him in memory of his wife named Mumtaz Mahal. She was his third wife whom he loved very much. After his death, the king was very upset and spent a lot of money, many lives and days building the Taj Mahal.nnHe used to remember his wife and see the Taj Mahal daily from Agra Fort. The Taj Mahal is located in a very large and spacious place in Agra city, Utter Pradesh. It is one of the seventh most beautiful buildings around the world and is called the seventh wonder. It is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in India which attracts thousands of tourists every year.nnThe Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort have been marked as UNESCO World Heritage Sites and in 2007 it has been chosen as the Seven Wonders of the World. The Taj Mahal is located 2.5 km from Agra Fort. It is Mughal architecture and is designed so beautifully by a mixture of ideas from Islamic Indian, Muslim art, Persian, etc. It is believed that Shah Jahan was also keen to build a single black mausoleum for himself; Unfortunately he died before he could implement his ideas into action. After his death he was buried at the Taj Mahal with his wife.

Ahsan Manzil was the Naz Palace of the Nawabs of Bengal built on the banks of the river Buriganga. The palace was built by Sheikh Enayetullah, the zamindar of Jamalpur Pargana during the Maghal period. In the eighteenth century, his son Sheikh Matiullah sold the palace to French merchants for use as a commercial center. In 1830, Khwaja Alimullah bought it from the French and turned it into a palace. Khwaja Abdul Gani built a main building around this garasad. He named the building after his son Khwaja Ahsanullah.

He got this monument built for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal after she passed away.nnTo honor the memory of his loving wife, Shah Jahan ordered the finest artisans from all over the world to build it. He wanted to make something that had never been done before for anyone. The emperor wished to give the last gift to his wife whom he loved very much.
