Like the MIshkal Mosque located about a few hundred metres away, the Kuttichira Juma Pall was constructed in the 14th century at a time when Kozhikode was a bustling port city, attracting traders from far and wide including the Arabs who brought Islam here.nnAgain, the entry is not allowed for non-Muslims though you are allowed to enter the front portion with boasts of richly carved lotus and other local motifs on the ceilings and columns made of wooden between which are Koranic verses in Arabic.nnThe Mosque is said to be the largest in the city and is said to have a movable roof that allows natural light to illuminate the rooms within.nnThe visit to the mosque can be combined with the Mishkal Mosque and the Muchundipalli, all located close by, within the Kuttichira area of the city.

One of the largest mosque in Kerala that can easily accommodate over 1,000 worshippers in the inner hall alone. Huge wooden pillars support the roof at the entrance and inside. This mosque believed to be over 1,000 years old.nnA must visit place in CALICUT. The visit to the mosque can be combined with the Mishkal Mosque and the Muchundipalli, all located close by, within the Kuttichira area of the city.
