It is said that there were three fortifications around the temple in the past. Due to being situated in these three puris namely Shaktipuri, Shivpuri and Vishnupuri, the goddess was named Tripura Sundari.nnThe existence of this Shaktipeeth is believed to be here before the third century. The rulers of Gujarat, Malwa and Marwar were worshipers of Tripura Sundari. This is the favored goddess of Solanki king Siddharaj Jai Singh of Gujarat.nnThe temple was renovated around the third century AD by Chanda Bhai of Panchal caste. Near the temple is the Bhagi mine, where once there used to be an iron mine. According to the legend, one day Tripura Sundari arrived at the quarry gate at Yachkarup, but the Panchalas did not pay attention to it. The goddess demolished the mine in anger, then the Panchalas built a temple and a pond here to please the mother goddess. This temple was renovated in the 16th century. Even today the Panchal Samaj takes care of Tripura Sundari Temple. The ruins of many temples have been found here.nnAccording to the popular legend, after the destruction of the Daksha-Yagya, Shiva began to kneel by placing the dead body of Sati on his shoulder. Then Lord Vishnu started breaking the body of Sati into pieces with the help of Sudarshan Chakra of Yogmaya to save the world from the holocaust. At that time, all the places where the marks of Sati fell, all those places became Shaktipeeths. Tripura Sundari is one of the 51 such Shaktipeeths. Mother's forehead fell herennIn the sanctum sanctorum of Goddess Tripura, there is an attractive eighteen-armed black colored statue with various weapons of Goddess Tripura. There was Triveda in the back of the temple, Kali in the south and Ashta Bhuja Saraswati temple in the north, the remains of which are still present today.nnIt is said that the Malav king Jagdesh Parmar had cut his head and offered it at the feet of the mother. At the same time, on the request of King Siddharaj, the mother revived the son-in-law Jagadev.
