Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Palace, Kolhapur . The Palace took 7 years to complete, from 1877 to 1884, costing about seven lakhs of rupees. The magnificent Darbar Hall is breathtaking with golden floral work & the museum has on display memorabilia belonging to the Kolhapur rulers which include royal apparel, jewelry, coins, weapons, silver elephant saddles, one of Aurangzeb’s swords. Maharajas Grand Children & families live on the first floor of this Palace now.
