This is a historical place. The name itself has deep meaning. It is Mizo language. Lal means King or chief. Lungdawh is a kind of activity that could be done by wealthy chief in Mizo historical society. It was making tombstone while the person was still alive. The practice has similarities with the building of Pyramid by Egyptians, and the tomb house by the Qutb rulers in India. However, the tombstone at Lal Lungdawh are meant for the remembrance of the great achievement made by Sairuma.
