When Swami Vivekananda came in alwar city first time, he was stay at this place.nThis memorial place was built by UIT, Alwar Rajasthan.nOn 7 February 1891, a Bengali saint came to Alwar. He had no identity at that time. No one knew that this saint would one day be recognized as one of the world's renowned figures. He was none other than Swami Vivekananda. During the stay in Alwar, his memorial has been built in the same room and premises of the office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer. This memorial will be seen telling many stories of Swamiji's stay in Alwar.nnSwamiji first came to Alwar on 7 February 1891. During this stay, the head of the Government Hospital stayed in the residence of Dr. Gurcharan Lashkar. This is the place where the memorial of Swamiji is built. Those doctors were identified as Bengali doctors. The stay was closely followed by Swamiji's Diwan Ramchandra's Haveli, head clerk Lala Govind Sahai Vijayvargiya of Mangalsar Regiment, Pandit Shambhunath Engineer and others. They also stayed for a few days at Govind Sahay's residence near Ashoka Talkies. Rajaram Vijayvargiya, grandson of Govind Sahai, said that Swamiji used to remember the people of Alwar even in Chicago due to his closeness. So he also wrote letters to Govind Sahay from Chicago. During this stay, he also gave lectures on a mound near Malakheda Gate. On this mound is Vivekananda Chowk, where the statue of Swamiji is installed. On 31 March 1891, Swamiji left Alwar. During this, he also talked to Maharaj Mangal Singh regarding idol worship. He also had a discussion with a maulvi sahib. Advocate Harishankar Goyal tells about Swamiji's stay that Swamiji came to Alwar twice. The first came in 1891 and the second time in December 1897. On coming to Alwar for the second time, the people of Alwar paid him special respect. He was ordained in the palace.
