Sri Bhuvaraha Swamy Temple (Purana Sthalam)

The temple is located at Srimushnam (waving of lamps) and had contributions from Medieval Cholas of the 10th century with later expansions by Thanjavur Nayak king Achuthappa Nayak. A granite wall surrounds the temple, enclosing all the shrines and the temple tanks. There is a seven-tiered rajagopuram, the temple's gateway tower.nSix daily rituals and three yearly festivals are held at the temple, of which the Chariot festival, celebrated during the Tamil month of Vaikasi (April–May), being the most prominent. The festival also symbolises Hindu-Muslim unity in the region - the flag of the chariot is provided by Muslims; they take offerings from the temple and present to Allah in the mosques. The temple is one of the few temples where Muslims are allowed to worship till the Ardha Mandapam.nnमंदिर का 10 वीं शताब्दी के मध्यकालीन चोलों से योगदान था, जिसके बाद तंजावुर नायक राजा अचथप्पा नायक ने विस्तार किया। मंदिर के चारों ओर एक ग्रेनाइट की दीवार है, जो सभी मंदिरों और मंदिर की टंकियों को घेरे हुए है। मंदिर का प्रवेशद्वार मीनार, सात-स्तरीय राजगोपुरम है। मंदिर में छह दैनिक अनुष्ठान और तीन वार्षिक उत्सव आयोजित किए जाते हैं, जिनमें से रथ त्योहार, वैकसी के तमिल महीने (अप्रैल-मई) के दौरान मनाया जाता है, सबसे प्रमुख है। यह त्योहार क्षेत्र में हिंदू-मुस्लिम एकता का प्रतीक है - रथ का झंडा मुसलमानों द्वारा प्रदान किया जाता है; वे मंदिर से प्रसाद लेते हैं और मस्जिदों में अल्लाह को पेश करते हैं। मंदिर उन कुछ मंदिरों में से एक है, जहाँ मुस्लिमों को अर्ध मंडपम तक पूजा करने की अनुमति है।

Powerful place. The route to this temple is very pleasant. Must visit place in Cuddalore district. The temple is pretty old temple and you will feel the divine power once you enter the temple.

Ancient temple. Powerful God. I visited many times. Opening time 8.30am.
