Nice and peaceful location which has its own history. The temple is located in the forest area with so many trees around. I felt very bad after seeing the condition of the temple, I urge Uttarakhand government to rehabilate this temple which has importance as per Hindu mythology.

This temple premise has 1main and about 20-25 other temples. This temple is dedidcated to भगवान शिव. Temple गर्भगृह has शिवलिंग just like the शिवलिंग in केदारनाथ temple.nnBefore going to केदारनाथ lord शिव stayed here. So the place is called basukedar.This temple was temple built by Shankaracharya.nnThe other temples in the premise are of various Gods and Goddess including local deities.nnThe temple premise has also a hostel for students of संस्कृत school. This Sanskrit school was built in 1971.
