Udhampur

Railway station has scenic beauty. Situated near Jammu Srinagar National Highway. It is at right hand side while going from Jammu to Srinagar. Away from Udhampur City but it is easily accessible through Auto rickshaw. It is mid way between Jammu Tavi and katra. And most of the trains heading towards karta stops here. Railway station is very less crowded, at times you'll see only very few people. The waiting halls in the station are empty most of the time and they are very clean. Even the toilets are very clean. There are not many food vendors in this railway station. On platform number 2-3 you'll find 2 stalls, one sells samosas and the other sells rajma rice and noodles, biscuits, namkeen. You'll find mountains near the station which adds to it's beauty. Both express, superfast as well as local passanger trains stops at this station. Vande Bharat express ( karta-Delhi) pass through this station but it does not have stoppage.

A totally neat and clean railway station. You get autos and cabs very easily here, just at the entry/exit of the station. Sad part is there are no shops for buying eatables or anything else in or near the station. To find a glass of tea also you will to go 0.5 km from the railway station.

The rail distance between UHP and JAT is 53 km (33 mi). There are a total of 3 platforms and 5 tracks. The platforms are connected by Foot Over Bridge. These platforms are built to accumulate 24 coaches express train. The platforms are equipped with modern facility like display board of arrival and departure of trains. Udhampur railway station has a separate platform for receiving and unloading freight (goods) trains.
