Church of Santa Cecilia Cloister

This place is worth a visit. The first information relating to this church dates back to 1095 and it seems that inside there are paintings attributed to Mastelletta and to the school of Guido Reni. On Saturday afternoon it is open. The cloister on the side is beautiful

On the hills of San Lazzaro di Savena, in a beautiful setting surrounded by large pines, stands this complex of uncertain origins. The Abbey, dedicated to Santa Cecilia, was part of an ancient convent of which today remains a small cloister attached to the church. The set of buildings (church, cloister and former convent) have been declared a messenger monument of a culture of peace by UNESCO. The overall state of the buildings is affected by the passage of time, there are several signs of degradation that would require intervention.

Beautiful architectural complex on the hill of S. Lazzaro, parish activity takes place, combined with cultural meetings, it has recently undergone a restoration, unfortunately not completed.

Ancient abbey, UNESCO heritage, in a splendid panoramic position, a very cloister cloister containing two ancient sunscreens, recently restored ?, at the center of many trekking and mountain biking routes, also given the proximity to the Gessi Park. Ideal for quiet and spectacular walks.
