Worth a visiting
Small but welcoming church, characterized by an octagonal shape. Recently renovated, it rises above the city of Umbertide in all its majesty. If you are in the area, I highly recommend a visit because it is really worth it

Very interesting church for its octagonal shape and the rich interiors
The church of Santa Maria della Reggia stands in Umbertide in Piazza Mazzini, since the second half of the sixteenth century, near the homonymous stream.
It is a building in cotto and pietra serena, octagonal in shape on the outside and circular inside.
The name Collegiata derives from the fact that in 1765 the Collegio dei Canonici was transferred from the church of San Giovanni Battista.
Recently the church has become a reference point and gathering of motorcyclists from all over central Italy who have elected the Blessed Virgin of the Reggia, their patron saint.
A modern lamp, by the sculptor Alberto Alunni, has been burning since 2012 in front of the image of the Virgin, as a perennial prayer of protection.
