In this book the sac. Speaks of this church. Girolamo Di Marzo Iron as an ancient church where you can see Gothic style windows and a curious bell tower in which you can see a stone hand. The church is situated in an eminent position of the upper part of the Castello hill, where on the sides there are ancient caves made from sandstone. The entrance door with an arch in the center dates back to the end of the XVI century. "Inside there is a baptismal font of the same age as the entrance door. Adjacent to the church there are traces of the tower of the city walls Medieval". The church was the seat of a confraternity; on 17 January, in honor of the patron saint of animals, the animals brought by the people of Vizzina and the inhabitants of neighboring countries were blessed. The church, now deconsecrated, is in a state of neglect.
