The Awarded Central Pharmacy dr. Rosati in Ascoli Piceno since 1877 is the historic Pharmacy of the Anisetta Rosati, an elixir born from an ancient recipe of the Award-winning Pharmaceutical Chemical Laboratory of Cav. Umberto Rosati of Ascoli Piceno, in the second half of the nineteenth century. The Anisetta Rosati is a liqueur born as a digestive of which the newspapers of the time often spoke with "manifest and ample approvals from medical and scientific notability" as the Prof. Comm. Gaetano Mazzoni (Surgeon honorary consultant of SS. Leo XIII) who he wrote: "The Anisetta Rosati ... refreshing and digestive ... was very welcome and I can assure you that it should be considered among the best preparations of the kind". Its peculiarity is due to a diligent discontinuous distillation in a slowly evaporating bain-marie, a careful selection of the seeds of Anice Verde di Castignano (Pimpinella Anisum L.) universally recognized as the best and most fragrant. Anise seeds are grown in the gentle hills of the Piceno, suspended between sea and mountains, in sunny and well-drained fertile lands exposed to the south and cooled by the breeze of the Sibillini Mountains, hand-picked by skilled farmers during the nights of the summer full moon. The proportioned doses with the addition of other Mediterranean spices from organic cultivation make the Anisetta Rosati a low-sugar liqueur very pleasing to the palate, awarded with a Gold Medal at the Third World Trade Fair in Rome in 1900 "awarded by the Jury to unanimity of votes ".
