Beautiful church

It's not the most spectacular building in this part of town

Because there are always confessors

Temple in the heart of the city with a particular octagonal shape. The church is of recent construction, built on the remains of a previous church and is dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua. Inside there are three large paintings behind the high altar, an upper one dedicated to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and two lower ones that show two important moments in the life of the Saint. The bronze bas-relief that forms the base of the altar is beautiful. Curious are the paintings in the dome, eight female figures intent on playing an instrument such as, flute, lyre, mandolin, etc. Inside there are lateral altars object of strong devotion of the faithful and dedicated to S. Rita, to San Francesco da Paola and to the Madonna of Lourdes

I thought I was in front of an ancient church seeing it from the square, half-covered by another building dedicated to prayer. Instead, past the modern wooden doors, I entered a church with unusually modern shapes. First of all, the octagonal structure, surmounted by a small dome supported by a very high conical shaped structure. Behind the altar is a high, brightly painted wall, in contrast with the dark-toned flooring. All around statues and paintings housed in harmoniously created recesses to give linearity with the environment. The arrangement of the benches to simulate a big hug and an atmosphere of absolute tranquility: a contrast with the liveliness and frenzy that characterize the square and the streets of the historic center.
