The construction of the Church began in 1230, as attested by an ancient tombstone existing in the adjacent cloister of the convent; it was completed after almost 116 years. Of the thirteenth-century construction remain the main portal with a pointed arch on which is carved an Agnus Dei and the right lateral one, also with reliefs carved on stone and a fresco in the lunette, representing Saint Anthony with the child in his arms.

It is a pity that only the main portal with a pointed arch and the Agnus Dei are left of the church from the 1300s, and the right lateral one with reliefs carved on stone and a fresco in the lunette, representing Saint Anthony with the child in his arms. For the rest the Church is baroque with paintings on the vaults, some episodes from the life of the Saint. Noteworthy is the organ on the back of the altar and a wooden pulpit.

Very beautiful church, collection. Construction was begun with the saint still in. Life. Baroque stucco does not appeal to its charm. Well maintained, clean and bright it is one of the jewel of the city.

One of the oldest churches in Andria, and in my opinion one of the most beautiful. Definitely very recommended to visit

I was there for a mass in memory of a friend of mine who died prematurely. Throughout the celebration we had to hear loud screams and chants coming from outside. The parish priest should check compatible times and appointments since the event took place in the cloister of the church. ”Absurd.
