Chiesa di San Giorgio

The Church of San Giorgio Martire is located in Pecorara, in the isolated inhabited center, with a north-east-south-west orientation, preceded by a large stone-paved churchyard. The only entrance portal is accessed by a five-step stairway. The portal is surmounted by an architrave and a marble commemorative plaque. The façade is a hut, crowned by a triangular pediment, divided into three parts by pilasters, separated by a protruding molded cornice. In the upper part there is a window with a lunette and a niche containing the statue of Saint George, by the sculptor Paolo Perotti. In the lateral fronts four rectangular windows open up and the volumes lean against it, without interruption of the working chapels. The fronts of the chapels are closed by square pillars, surmounted by stone pyramidal spiers. In the fronts there is a large window with a bezel on each side. On the left front is the sacristan's house, the sacristy and a barrel-vaulted chapel dedicated to the Madonna of Lourdes.

Beautiful Church. On Sundays they say Mass with the Cantors as they once did. Very good the parish priest of Pianello, and the chirichetti, of which one is from Cicogni.
