Chiesa di San Marco

The church of San Marco Evangelista is mentioned in 1318 as a branch of Toano. In the seventeenth century underwent several extensions. Towards the middle of the nineteenth century the building was rebuilt from the foundations and at the end of the century a new restoration was carried out. The current building shows architectural and stylistic features of the nineteenth century centered on a large façade with a quadrangular portal surmounted by a tympanum marked by a molded cornice. On a stone engraved the thousandth "1853". The rectory, built in the second half of the nineteenth century, is of typological value. The nineteenth-century bell tower, detached from the body of the church, is particularly significant. A noteworthy seventeenth-century oratory dedicated to Sant'Antonio da Padova is located a short distance away, characterized by an avant-garde supported by small columns with a circular section. In the oratory, an icon representing the Madonna Coronata con Bambino is notable.
