As far as we are talking about an early ancient cult building near Fontanaluccia, the most distant historical trace refers to a second building called the "old church", on which, in a pillar, the millennium MDCXX was engraved. A third building was erected in 1678 to replace the previous one, which in the meantime fell into ruin. between the end of 1820 and the first years of 1830 the new building collapsed due to landslides. In place of the collapsed church between 1833 and 1836, a new temple was erected, for the construction of which three years were used. The building made of stone is presented with a plan consisting of a central volume flanked by two narrow side aisles and a transept in which there are two symmetrical chapels with altars. In one of the side chapels there is the burial of Father Founder of the Houses of Charity, Don Mario Prandi. The interior features a system of columns with double-order capitals that perceptually divide the space and support painted three times. In the presbytery area the ceiling becomes barrel and ends on the rectilinear wall of the apse. The pictorial subjects of the vaults appear nineteenth-century and coeval to the construction of the church, while the tabernacle and the wooden ancona containing the representation of the Saint are of seventeenth-century imprint.
