Well worth the climb to reach it. The view over Amelia from outside is stunning. We arrived to the sound of beautiful organ music filtering out of the cathedral doors. Inside was stunning, the ceiling covered in amazing artwork. It's smaller size and welcoming atmosphere puts it streets ahead of Orvieto cathedral in my opinion, and it's free!

This beautiful church is truly impressive at the highest point of the city, adjacent to the civic tower. High-quality frescoes and incredible location ... Not to be missed.

The Cathedral of Santa Fermina is the most important place of worship in Amelia, it dominates the town from the highest point; its construction dates back to the 9th century, destroyed and rebuilt several times. Its current appearance is from the 19th century. Inside it is rich in frescoes and works of art.
