Pievelunga is a fraction of the Municipality of Parrano (TR). The Church of S. Erasmo, formerly Pieve in 1028 AD, is the oldest in the district. Erected on the remains before an Etruscan and then Roman temple, it is of Romanesque architecture, with a Latin cross. He underwent various restorations and remodeling, which removed the two side altars. In their place, now stands the confessional on the right, and on the left the niche of the Madonna del Rosario, recently restored. Very important is also the cult of Santa Teresa, which is dedicated to a small icon on the left of the main altar. Outside, the remains of the temple of Roman origin dedicated to Vesta, and, at the short side to the north, the probable remains of an apse wall, today sacristy. There are two bells, one with a more serious sound, Rasimo, and the other with a cheerful and ringing sound, Rasimina. The name derives from the vulgarization of the name of the Saint to whom the Church is dedicated. Of its importance we can find traces of it since the Middle Ages, in the Statutum Castri Parrani of 1559, where the evocative procession of the so-called "luminarie" is regulated, from the Castle to the Pieve di Montelungo. From the Lords to the small people, at night and with candles, we went to pay homage to Our Lady of the Rosary.
