Parrocchia di Sant'Ansano

Mentioned in documents in 1056, the Pieve in 1300 had jurisdiction over about thirty churches in the district. In the seventeenth century the decline began, which benefited other churches. The maximum degradation was reached during the Second World War when the Germans, attested there in defense of the Gothic line, first used the church as a warehouse and then a stable. The retreat began and they killed the horses in the church, leaving them to rot, with great stench and offense at the sacred place. Today the Pieve is clean, well-kept, worthy of a visit.
