Continuing towards Corso Someiller, on the corner with Corso Re Umberto, we come to the Crescent House (from the French, crescent, mezzaluna), designed in 1911 by Genesio Vivarelli, so named for the conformation of the lot in a semicircle. The decoration is still typically Liberty Turin, rather dense and almost heavy. To give lightness, inserting two turning points, however, the side bowwindows intervene, with their hollow turret at the upper extremity, and the columns with the pronounced entasis. Note the bottom of the “cul de lamp” bay windows with interesting hollow loops that detach from the cement surface, like leaves bent by the rain.
