It's beautiful, but many places are beautiful in Italy, and it's pricey. The transport (38 euros per people from Sorrento 2 ways) , the coffee (4.5 euros at the top of funicular station) ...the view is fantastic, but again, we have been to Positano, to Amalfi, and well....Capri c'est fini.

SNAV best way to travel to Capri. Fast and well priced. Best to take the funicolare, ski lift or taxi. Long walk up to Anacapri. Vacation home of Augustus Caesar the 1st emperor and from where Tiberius 2nd imperator ruled the Roman Empire. So much to see, so little time.

The Funucular is very easy to find when you get out of the port, but this isn't where you buy the tickets. The ticket office can be found at these coordinates: 40.556415, 14.238533. The tickets are very cheap. However, as already mentioned in previous reviews, make sure they give you the correct change. (although you should be doing this anyway while in Italy. The train is very frequent and much quicker than climbing, but is does get very cramped with no moving space at all. Unless you are an amazingly fit athlete, it makes sense to use the train on the way up. On the way back down, it doesn't take much longer to walk down the steps/slope and you get to see different scenery.
