Beautiful and ancient church, located at the entrance to the historic center

The Church of Sant'Egidio Abate, is located in the center of Bitonto, in a very important public domain.It is a modern Church, simple, free of paintings of sacred paintings, of great importance, but, inside it, has statues of saints, from the valence, more than intense! Even its exterior is simple, strictly in stone, with steps on the front of the sober Portal. The interior then has a single nave, with a high altar and an apse, decorated in dark marble and two side altars, modeled on the higher altar. Immediately in front of the entrance, still in the interior, there is a statue, enclosed in a reliquary, of the Saint, to whom this long Saint is dedicated, rather communicative, having a deer at his feet and a child beside him. In addition, it is a Church, very committed to helping those in need, with the Banco delle Opere di Carità and, the Food Distributions. It also organizes events, meetings, liturgical rites, meetings of the faithful, processions. It is a Church, therefore, that speaks to its people, directly and not only through prayer and the Holy Mass: it is a Church, to be visited, and to be internalized, for every message, in which it sees us involved!
