The Foundation Opera S.S.Medici Cosmas and Damian, is very active in Bitonto, the numerous humanitarian works, which take place on the back of the Basilica dedicated to them. The primary and most important is the help the most needy, the Mensa, where every day is a hot meal served by volunteers. Then there's the distribution, more people in need of basic necessities, such as: pasta, canned tomatoes, beans, oil, flour, milk, jam, sugar, and more. Even the clothes are distributed to the needy. On this foundation, there are-family houses, also for large family, or for the homeless; listening centers for people with problems of alcoholism and drug addiction, and young people without work. But, again, Italian League for the Fight against Cancer; Teleservice Centers, Unitalsi, for travel to Lourdes sick people with medical assistance, and the Halls of the Catechism. The Opera S.S Medici Foundation, is a very large structure, equipped with everything and, for all, built with the donations of millions of faithful coming from all over the world. On this foundation, there is a broad vision, ask here to be heard for anyone problems!

For the devotees of the S.S. Medici Cosma and Damiano, this sanctuary together with those of Alberobello and Oria, are absolutely worth visiting.
