The church was built in 1648 by devoted masons following a cholera epidemic, it has a typical seventeenth-century baroque facade. In 1740 it was enlarged and a sacristy and an oratory were built for the Confraternity, established in 1702. Damaged by the earthquake, it was repaired and restored. On the entrance portal (in red brecciated) there is a polychrome ceramic of the Madonna. The interior has a single apsidal nave. Three marble altars and rich stucco decorations complete the furnishings
