Historic Varano wood-fired oven remained virtually identical to what it was when it was inaugurated. His typical bread is now available in various shops and supermarkets in Ancona but I continue to go to Varano every Sunday morning even just to chat for five minutes with Mrs. Maria or her son Roberto whom I have known for over thirty years.
